Hello Parents:

I just enrolled my son in an amazing program called Early Discovery in San Rafael. He was originally attending a reputable pre-school in Marin, but as the class size increased over the fall, he began to socially withdraw and started to protest going. A friend in my profession, mental health, recommended that I speak to Nouzha at Early Discovery. When we met Nouzha we immediately felt her warmth and nurturing style. But more importantly, the in-home atmosphere embodied a safe, educational, and encouraging environment, not withstanding that she is an expert in child development as she is currently obtaining her Ph.D. in early childhood education. Her school is very small and her approach is a combination of Reggio Emilia, Montessori, and Waldorf -- taking all the best from those studies. Over the last month, a part of the science curriculum was observing the life cycle of butterflies from cocoon into full winged butterflies. My son was so excited and we could clearly see a new interest emerging in science; exactly what a mom and dad would hope for. I recommend Early Discovery without reservation. In addition, if you need consultation regarding parenting, problematic behaviors, or any early childhood developmental concerns, Nouzha also serves as a consultant in these area’s.

Best regards, Dr. Bernadette Torrez

Dear Nouzha,

Kyle and Olivia continue to be fascinated by butterflies, and at least I believe they associate them with you! Thank You! We all miss you and Olivia talks about you and her friends, which makes me quite sad. Their transition to school has been rocky, with some crying and hanging on, but there are smiles at the end of the day and good reports from their new teachers. Kyle has gotten praise for being a good helper, picking up after meals and putting toys away, which I am very confident that he learned from you. I hope your transitions have gone well too, you have lovely new families. I am sorry that Kyle will not have a day to spend with you and his buddy Reisa, I really wanted him to foster a closeness with you at your wonderful environment. Please let me know if space opens up. I understand about the holidays and transitions on single days. Do you think a longer block over the summer would work? We hope to see you again, or do you have a picture of yourself so I can show and talk to the kids about you? Hugs from all of us! Dog and Moose too!!

Dear Mom’s,

I wanted to communicate to you all that Nouzha has setup a wonderland of indoor and outdoor activities at her school in San Rafael. She is a Montessori school specialist (among other things) and she has brought a world of joy and amazement to my Ezekiel.

Dear Mom’s,

We took our twins to their checkup yesterday and the doctor was amazed at where they were developmentally, both physically (jumping) and cognitive. I really attribute a large portion of this to having conscientious care. I know from the last two weeks that we spent with them while Nouzha was on vacation that I would not have been able to impart the same things. I don’t have the training, the patience, nor the time to focus on them the way Nouzha has been able to. Thanks for your support in helping us choose Nouzha.

Dear Nouzha,

Thank you for allowing my husband to visit Early Discovery. He was so pleased with your expertise! He came home and raved about your interactions with the children and how beautiful the relationships were. It clearly appeared as an extended family. The independence the children displayed along with your gentle guidance truly impressed him. He just loved the environment and what the kids were learning.

Nouzha,

Terrific!! Thank you so much and I know Zoe will have a wonderful time with you. I can’t tell you how much it means to us knowing that she’s staying with you—what peace of mind!!

Nouzha,

Thank you so much for coming over yesterday. It was very kind of you to spend a few hours providing great tips - especially on your day off. If Oliver’s bedtime behavior yesterday is any indication of what a difference you made – we owe you BIG time! Nothing short of a miracle Nouzha ;-) !!

Hi Nouzha,

…I would also like to say THANK YOU so much for welcoming us this week and helping Maddie make the adjustment. Most providers would simply have made me drop her off and leave her to fend for herself—with many tears on both sides! This is the first time I have ever left Maddie with anyone outside of her home, and I really appreciate the time and effort you’ve taken to make it painless and even fun! She will thrive with you and Carol, I am sure! Thanks again, and I will see you next week.

Hi Nouzha,

It was a GREAT spending time with you yesterday. The environment you’ve created for the children is absolutely magical!!! So inviting, stimulating, warm and comfortable… I am thrilled with the experience Helena is having in your school.

Hi Nouzha,

It was awesome spending time with you on Friday. Your thoughts and comments were so helpful and inspiring. I’ve already changed a bunch of things in the kitchen dining space and Helena’s room-she’s thriving in the spaces now. Also put books in baskets in all the places you suggested and now I often catch her looking at a book! THANK YOU!! Regarding consultations-I would love to schedule another consultation with you to finish going through any additional suggestions you might have regarding the spaces and learning supplies. Probably 2 hours would be the right amount of time.
